Art Work-shops..

Here at Eflatun we hold workshops in painting, ceramics, sculpture, marbling, and photography. All workshops are beginner’s level and we supply the needs of the participants, (with the exception of cameras and film). Participants at Eflatun can join any or as many of the workshops as they like.

Painting and Color Therapy..

This workshop starts with the application of the knowledge of design and sketching. While focusing on nature and landscape works, participants will learn about light, shadow, and line techniques. We also provide the basics of pigment and watercolor techniques. Using varied mediums participants will take the journey from inner awareness to the canvas.

Marbling..

Mankind has made paintings in water for centuries and although the exact date is not known, it is known that the art form came from around Horosan, Central Asia and migrated to Anatolia. Through the manipulation of water, they lightened the colors and with the help of water’s fluidity they transferred their designs onto paper. Marbling is a difficult and striving art. There’s no return or repeat. It’s an inexact and exciting kind of art that requires a great deal of concentration and patience. Marbling is also one of the rare traditional arts that seeks only visual taste toward beauty.

Photography..

Work starts with the introduction of the camera, lens, and film. After learning about light and composition we move on to the next level of application. We utilize nature as our subject while trekking through some of the most beautiful scenery the area has to offer.

Ceramics..

We begin with learning about form, construction techniques and the use of the potter’s wheel. After learning about drying and kiln-drying procedures, we move on to put it all together to create ceramics that are not only beautiful but useful as well.

Sculpture..

Sculpture workshops begin with the sketching of objects and ends with the application of plaster with relief techniques.

Supplies and Considerations !!!

For those who are coming to camp, here are some suggestions for what to bring:

For those who are going to stay in tents, the usual gear of sleeping bags and mats should be brought.

For the beach: towels, sunscreen, insect repellent and other items that will help maintain safety, health and comfort.

Personal items, toiletries, and medicines for allergies, and other ailments are recommended. (For women travelers, if you require a special brand of tampons it is a good idea to bring it with you.)

Clothing: Bring the usual items for either a trekking or beach holiday. Light jackets or sweaters/jumpers are also recommended for the cool nights.
Travel Documents: Insurance papers if you have and emergency contact numbers are also a good idea.
